Texas Renewable Funds, a subsidiary of the Scottsdale, Arizona-based renewable energy company USA BioEnergy is building a $1.7 billion biorefinery in Bon Wier. Moreover, the new biorefinery will create 142 new jobs.

Texas economy is recovering well and many companies are moving their operations to the state. Therefore, another multi-billion biorefinery is coming to Texas. They have chosen the piney woods of Bon Weir in Newton County. USA BioEnergy biorefineries specialize in the conversion of sustainably sourced wood waste into renewable diesel, sustainable aviation fuel, and naphtha. Secondly, they are employing dependable and market-proven technologies.
State has welcomed the investment
Governor Greg Abbott today came up with the announcement that Texas Renewable Funds will invest $1.7 billion and build a biorefinery. “We are excited that USA BioEnergy has chosen East Texas as the home for their new advanced biorefinery. his investment will further cement Texas as an innovative energy leader and will bring unprecedented economic opportunities to Bon Weir and Newton County. Thank you to USA BioEnergy for selecting Newton County for this incredible project and I appreciate the hard work of our local and state partners to secure this investment. I look forward to our continued work together as we create an even brighter future for the entire Lone Star State.” Governor Abbott expressed his views in his statement.
Employment opportunities
The Newton County facility plans to convert one million green tons of wood waste into 34 million gallons annually. However, future expansion will double the plant’s production capacity to 68 million gallons annually. Moreover, CEO Nick Andrews said USA BioEnergy performed an extensive site search and analysis to identify the best project location. This new biorefinery will create 142 jobs in the Newton County community. However, the CEO believes that the impact of the investment is much more significant that this job number. “[It’s] going to create a significant amount of jobs in the forestry industry, outside of what we’re doing, our 142 jobs, those are direct jobs, the indirect jobs and the amount of capital we’re going to be putting into that region”. Andrew came up with his views in his statement.
USA BioEnergy is a renewable fuels development group based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Subsequently, they produce sustainable aviation fuel, renewable diesel, and renewable naphtha from readily available wood waste feedstock.
