Boots is planning to hire 10,000 seasonal workers

The advent of Christmas season will increase the consumer demand for various products and service. Therefore, many companies in UK have initiated recruitment drives to hire seasonal workers in wake of this rising demand. Similarly, British health and beauty retailer and pharmacy chain Boots has also announced its plans to recruit 10,000 temporary workers for 2022 holiday season.

Temporary roles across multiple departments

The Nottinghamshire-based chemist chain is expecting a hectic festive season. Hence, they are advertising thousands of temporary roles at its stores and warehouses. In addition, the company will also offer several operational vacancies. Moreover, the company said that they will offer 6,500 Christmas customer assistant roles and 3,000 roles at the company’s distribution sites. Additionally, Boots will also offer 2,000 roles for in-store customer operations assistants. Boots have already started the recruitment for these roles and thousands of positions are up for grabs.

“Team members who join our business over the festive period are always truly valued members of store and distribution center teams, providing crucial support for our stores and customers alike. We’re looking to recruit a diverse range of team members that represent the communities we serve every year.” Boots head of recruitment Donna Hodgins said in a statement.

Furthermore, Boots stated that these roles will provide a platform to workers to explore career path in the retail industry. Moreover, the temporary jobs will provide invaluable experience that may lead to permanent job roles in future. “Our roles are perfect opportunities for anyone looking to explore career paths in the retail industry to gain valuable work experience that could potentially lead to a permanent position in future.” Donna added to her statement.

A large number of UK employers are looking to hire seasonal workers in wake of upcoming Christmas season. Tesco, Aldi and Morrisons have already initiated mass recruitment drives and are seeking to hire thousands of seasonal workers.
