Morrisons seeking thousands of seasonal workers

The Christmas season is getting around the corner and demand for seasonal workers is on a high. Many companies in United Kingdom are seeking to hire seasonal workers to meet the demand during the busy holiday season. Similarly, Morrisons has also launched a massive recruitment drive and they are looking to recruit 3,500 workers for this year’s Christmas season.

Morrisons is expecting a big holiday season

Supermarket giant Morrisons is expecting this year’s holiday season to be even bigger than the normal. Therefore, the company has already set sight on hiring seasonal workers during the holiday season. Moreover, the supermarket chain is seeking to hire 500 more seasonal workers as compared to last year. In addition, the company claims that the Winter World Cup will also play a role in increasing demand. Furthermore, Morrisons will look to hire people at its stores and food making and logistics operations. The positions are available across the United Kingdom.

“Ahead of the festive season, we are looking for 3,500 Christmas helpers to come and join our fast-moving and exciting team on a temporary or permanent basis There are lots of great opportunities in our various stores and sites across the UK to help people develop new skills and make and deliver the items our customers love to enjoy when celebrating the festive season.” Morrisons’ people director Clare Grainger said in a statement.

Supermarket giant offering competitive package

Available roles include customer assistants, home delivery drivers, machine operatives, warehouse operatives and production operatives. In addition, the permanent and temporary roles are offering a 15% discount to the potential employees. Alongside, the hired employees will also get full training for the role.

Significantly, companies like Tesco, Aldi and John Lewis have also initiated recruitment drives to hire temporary workers. Tesco is seeking to hire 10,000 temporary workers. Whereas, John Lewis intends to hire 4,000 seasonal workers across 331 Waitrose stores.
