Baptist Health has announced to open a new pharmacy center in La Grange with an investment of $40 million. Moreover, Baptist is expecting to create more than 200 new jobs by the time of its completion.
Construction will begin in November 2022
Baptist will open this new pharmacy center behind the hospital on Moody Lane. Moreover, they will build this center on a 90,000-square-foot facility at the Baptist Health La Grange campus. The center will serve patients across Baptist Health’s nine hospitals in Kentucky and southern Indiana. Therefore, it will provide better medication access to patients in quick and efficient manner. Construction of this new center will start by November this year and will complete it by December 2023.
“Baptist Health has been deeply invested in the wellbeing of this region for more than 30 years through the high-quality care provided by Baptist Health La Grange and our Baptist Health Medical Group facilities. Our long-standing commitment is strengthened with the planned construction of our systemwide Central Pharmacy Service Center here in La Grange, in addition to bringing new providers, new services and new facilities to this community.” Patrick Falvey, Baptist Health Chief Operating Officer said in his statement.
More than 200 new jobs
La Grange pharmacy center is likely to bring many employment opportunities in the area. Initially, Baptist has announced that it will likely bring more than 200 new jobs by April 2024. Moreover, they will offer jobs for pharmacists, pharmacy techs and non-clinical support positions. In addition, Kentucky’s governor also termed the project “Impressive” as it will bring multiple benefits for the residents. “Improving access to high-quality health care has been a top goal of my administration from day one, and Baptist Health has been a great Team Kentucky partner in that effort. This latest investment in Oldham County is going to build a pharmacy headquarters, bringing expanded services to this entire region and creating great new jobs at the same time. Congratulations to Baptist Health La Grange on this impressive new project.” Gov. Beshear said in his statement welcoming the investment.
