Mainstream Renewable Power is looking to develop at least three offshore wind energy projects in Ireland. Moreover, the establishment of these new projects will lead to the creation of 100 jobs at their new Dublin headquarter.

Dublin based energy company has decided to re-enter the home market in Ireland. They are returning back to Irish markets after at least three years. Hence, they intend to develop wind energy project across Ireland. Furthermore, Mainstream Renewable Power will develop three sites in south-east, west coasts and east of Ireland. Significantly, these energy farms will support United Kingdom targets of carbon reduction. In addition, the company is already operating its projects in Africa, South America and the Middle East. Moreover, they have a portfolio consisting of 27 gigawatts worth of wind and solar farms.

100 new full-time jobs in Dublin HQ

The energy company has setup a new headquarter in Dublin to support their growth ambitions. In addition, the company has planned to hire more than 100 full-time employees over the next three years. They will hire these people in multiple areas including engineering, information solutions, finance, insurance, corporate affairs, corporate governance and project management. However, Mainstream Renewable Power will look to hire around 50 workers within the next year. Mostly, these roles will be pertaining from engineering domain. Furthermore, the company’s headcount rose to 650 since January 2021. Previously, their workforce number stood at 335 in late 2020.

Our expansion here in Ireland, and our journey to becoming a renewable energy major will provide a unique opportunity for new team members that we bring on board over the next year to make a hugely positive difference in the energy transition and industrial decarbonization, domestically and internationally.” Mary Quaney, Mainstream Renewable Power’s CEO commented on the latest expansion strategy.

IDA Ireland Support

In addition, Irish Government also supported Mainstream’s expansion through IDA Ireland. Mary Buckley, executive director at the State agency termed Mainstream as a ‘world-class energy development company’.

“Today’s jobs announcement is great news for Ireland and those that wish to play a role in supporting Ireland’s transition to a low-carbon economy, and we’re particularly excited by Mainstream’s plans to partner with local companies as part of its ambitions to contribute to the creation of a local supply chain that brings value back to local communities.” She further added to her statement.
