The Kroger Co. has announced to open their newest Customer Fulfillment Center in Dallas. Besides, the Customer Fulfillment Center will leverage advanced robotics technology to redefine customer experience for Kroger’s customers. Moreover, the fulfillment center will employ more than 500 people when operating at optimum capacity.

$55 million investment

The Kroger Co. is the largest supermarket chain in United States. Recently, they have opened a 350,000 square foot facility in Dallas with an investment of $55 million. Furthermore, the Dallas based e-commerce fulfillment center is now open and the employees have started making deliveries. “Kroger’s fast-growing seamless ecosystem takes the promise of zero compromise to the next level, with Kroger Delivery bringing the freshest food and quality ingredients to your own doorstep—when you want it, how you want it. Customers can use Kroger.com or the Kroger app to check the weekly circular, select personalized digital coupons, search products by dietary preference and ultimately place their delivery order, saving time and money.” Kroger Vice President and Head of E-commerce Bill Bennett said in his statement.

500 new jobs in Dallas

The new fulfillment center is likely to create multiple employment opportunities. Initially, the company announced that they will hire about 500 employees at the facility. So far, the fulfillment center is employment 400 workers. In addition, 1,000 bots are installed to fetch food from bins. Furthermore, Kroger collaborated with City of Dallas, the Governor’s Office of Economic Development and Tourism, local and regional workforce solutions offices for talent acquisition. “The opening of Kroger’s new Customer Fulfillment Center is a major win for our city. It represents a tremendous investment in southern Dallas. This means hundreds of jobs, it means more economic development, and it means greater access to fresh groceries for all of our residents, including those in our historically underserved and overlooked communities. Together, we are building a more vibrant and more equitable city.” Mayor Eric Johnson said in his statement.
