Niagara Bottling is building a new facility in Shelby Township through a total capital investment of $103.6 million. Moreover, the investment is likely to create at least 50 new jobs. In addition, Michigan Business Development Program will also provide a performance-based grant of $350,000 to the California based bottling company.

Support from Michigan Business Development Program

Niagara Bottling is a private label bottler whose clients include major retailers such as Costco and Walmart. Governor Gretchen Whitmer came up with an announcement that Michigan Strategic Fund will support Niagara Bottling. The bottling company has opted for Michigan for their new facility. Although many other states were also competing for this project. Moreover, Shelby Township plans to make water and sewer infrastructure improvements to support of the project. “Should the Niagara facility need more capacity or other improvements to accommodate future operations, like any of our other water and sewer customers, the requesting entity will bear the costs of those improvements.” Republican supervisor said in a statement.

50 new jobs in Michigan

Furthermore, the new bottling facility will lead to creation of multiple employment opportunities. According to Whitmer’s announcement the project will add at least 50 full-time jobs in Michigan. Moreover, Niagara offers job training opportunities and supports promotions and career advancements within the company. In addition, Niagara also offers a full benefits package for full-time employees and formal professional development programs. The hiring for the new positions will start in the coming months.
