Bluegrass Supply Chain Services LLC is expanding its logistics capabilities. Hence, they will invest $25 million in Bowling Green. In addition, the logistics company will create about 110 new jobs in the Bowling Green.

Gov. Beashear’s announcement

According to Gov. Andy Beshear, the leaders at third-party logistics provider Bluegrass Supply Chain Services LLC (BSC) will start a new operation in Warren County with a $25 million investment. Moreover, they will look to expand their logistics network to serve the automotive and food and beverage markets. “I want to thank the leaders at Bluegrass Supply Chain Services for growing the company’s presence in Bowling Green and continuing to serve key industries in the commonwealth. This investment highlights the continued growth of existing businesses in our state, which play an integral role in building a brighter future for Kentuckians.” Gov. Beashear said in his statement.

Expanding customer base across Kentucky

Furthermore, Bluegrass Supply Chain Services LLC will partner with Sunnyside Gott REIG to develop and lease a facility in Bowling Green. However, it will operate under the same ownership as BSC, for office and warehousing space. This will be the company’s second location in the community. Furthermore, the new operations facility will better serve customers throughout Kentucky and the surrounding region. The company is expecting the project to start in 2022 and will reach completion by January 2024. “We are excited to develop a new corporate office, warehouse space, and a truck facility to support our operations in Bowling Green and Warren County. This community has been fantastic for our business. The location provides us easy access to the new connector road to Interstate 65 and close proximity to many of our customers.” CEO of BSC John Higgins said in his statement.

Jobs creation in Kentucky

Beashear’s administration has proved to be very fruitful for Kentucky in terms of employment generation. Significantly, the companies operating within distribution and logistics have managed to announced creation of over 5,700 full-time jobs in Kentucky. In addition, the state has attracted an investment of $608 million across 90 project expansion and new facilities.
