Software company FileCloud has palnned to choose Limerick as a center for their new research and development center. Moreover, Limerick will also be the location for the company’s EMEA headquarters. In addition, the move to Ireland will create 50 new jobs at FileCloud.

Millions of customers

FileCloud is a file sharing and content collaboration software provider having its headquarter in Texas, United States. Moreover, it provides compliance, data governance, data leak protection, data retention and digital rights management services to its clients. Furthermore, it is currently providing services to more than 3,000 enterprise customers and more than 1 million users globally. Its clients ranges from enterprises, educational institutions, government organizations and managed service providers.

Employment opportunities in Limerick

Importantly, the move to Limerick will lead to the addition of 50 new jobs. Moreover, the new roles are in areas such as development, operations and support, research and development, sales and marketing and general administrative support. However, the company is planning to hire people for these roles over a period of two and a half years. “I started my own career in the locality, and I have had great experience with operating prior companies from Ireland’s Midwest. We see first-hand that there is an excellent ecosystem to fast-track growth plans with the support of the local business community and our IDA partners. We get access to the region’s highly skilled technology focused talent and competitive cost base.” FileCloud’s chief executive, Ray Downes said in his statement.

Company’s global presence

FileCloud has a global presence and have their offices in USA, Brazil, Dubai, India, and the Philippines. In addition, the software company claims that they have their customers in more than 90 countries worldwide. Alongside, the company is now planning to establish its footprints in Ireland. “FileCloud’s decision to establish its EMEA HQ and R&D Centre in Limerick is terrific news. The addition of these 50 technical and commercial roles to Limerick City will have a positive impact on the Mid-West region, creating opportunities for employment, third level collaboration, and R&D.” IDA chief executive, Martin Shanahan commented on FileCloud’s latest decision.
