Virginia’s Governor Glenn Youngkin announced that EAB is planning to invest a minimum of $6 million to expand their operations in Henrico. Moreover, the investment from EAB will result in creation of more than 200 jobs over the next five years.

Relocation to new office

EAB is the leading provider of education research, technology, marketing and enrollment solutions. The company is planning to relocate from their two Henrico offices on East Perham. Therefore, they will now move in to 70,000-square-foot space at the SunTrust Building on West Broad Street. “EAB has been a committed business partner in Virginia for more than 30 years. We are thrilled to see its continued expansion and investment in Henrico County. The firm’s success reinforces the importance of attracting and retaining a skilled workforce that is helping fulfill EAB’s mission to improve education and communities across the country.” Governor Glenn Youngkin said in his statement.

206 new jobs

The relocation of EAB to the new office and expansion in operations will create many employment opportunities. Furthermore, the company has announced that the expansion project will add more than 200 new jobs. These jobs will include software engineers, creative marketing staff and account management. In addition, the company is employing about 600 people. “EAB is a valuable employer in the Commonwealth, and we are pleased to support its growth and creation of 206 new jobs in Henrico County. The Greater Richmond region’s combination of world-class talent, stable business climate, competitive operating costs, and livability. It provides an ideal location for EAB to thrive. We look forward to a continuing partnership.” Secretary of Commerce and Trade Caren Merrick commented on the latest investment from EAB.

Support from Virginia’s administration

The Virginia Economic Development Partnership worked with the Henrico Economic Development Authority and the Greater Richmond Partnership to secure the project. Moreover, Governor Youngkin approved a $741,600 grant from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund to assist Henrico County with the project. In addition, Virginia Jobs Investment Program will provide the funding and services to support training activities for the employees.
