Baptist Health and Encompass Health Corp. are planning to build the Rehabilitation Hospital of Louisville LLC with an investment of $40 million. Moreover, the project is likely to add 42 well-paying jobs in Jefferson County.

Rehabilitation hospital in Jefferson County

Baptist Health and Encompass Health Corp. joined this job venture project back in 2021. The project will include construction of 48,000 square foot facility at 11800 Bluegrass Parkway in Jeffersontown. In addition, it will comprise of 40 beds. Furthermore, the construction on this facility will start in 2023 and will complete in 2024. The hospital will offer rehabilitation services for patients recovering from debilitating injuries or illnesses. Encompass Health is the largest owner and operator of rehabilitation hospitals in the United States. They have a countrywide network of 153 hospitals in 36 states. Similarly, Encompass Health has extended its presence in Kentucky. Previously, they have rehabilitation hospitals in Edgewood, Elizabethtown and Lexington.

KEDFA’s $250,000 preliminary tax incentives

The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) has preliminary approved around $250,000 in tax incentives through the Kentucky Enterprise Initiative Act (KEIA). Moreover, the company can avail services of Kentucky’s workforce service providers. These services include no-cost recruitment and job placement services, reduced-cost customized training and job-training incentives. However, the venture has to achieve the investment target of $40 million along with creation of 42 full-time well-paying jobs in Kentucky.

Significantly, Kentucky managed to add more than 81,000 jobs since September 2021. This is the largest number of new jobs added in 20 years.
