Amazon’s new facility in Kingston is steering close to its opening date. Therefore, the global retailer is now in need of resources to fill their open positions.

Last year, Amazon purchased 77,160 square feet of area for their new facility. They purchased that land for $1.7 million. However, it is still unclear regarding when the new facility will become fully operational. The online retailer conducted a job fair on March 24, 2022. The fair was hosted by Lenoir County Community College and NCWorks Career Center at 231 Highway 58S in Kinston located in the Bullock Building. The purpose is to secure the hiring of staff for the new warehouse facility. The new facility will serve the purpose of streamlining the supply chain operations and delivering better quality services to the customers.

Competitive salary and other benefits

Amazon began hiring last year when they posted several jobs. It was taken as a confirmation that Amazon are expanding their footprints in Kingston. They also offered competitive pay packages for the prospective employees. Competitive pay starts at $15 to $19 an hour. Moreover, they were offering healthcare benefits, tuition support options and career advancement opportunities. Currently, Amazon have multiple job openings which they are looking to fill. They job listings ranges from management to mentoring positions. Some of the job roles include road delivery operations, IT support engineer, operations manager, assistant manager, team member, warehouse shopper and several more options.

    Amazon settled on the Kinston location after they made interest in a “Last Mile” warehouse. The facility comprises of 10 acres and is meeting their needs. This warehouse will function as the last step in delivering a product from the facility to the customer’s doorstep.
